Image of Scottish Bus Fleetlists - Part 5, Indexes, November 2017

Those of you who are regular visitors to ScotBus.com will be more than aware that we’ve been hosting free Scottish Bus Fleetlists for years… Indeed, we currently have 16 previous sets of Major Operator lists – many thanks to Chris Forbes. Last time, we also did a printed booklet version, which went down very well! (Remember the majority of H2T customers, like those buying other fleet books etc., don’t have access to the Internet).

So, where do we go from here?

Well, following kind permission of Tony Hunter (and Chris Forbes for doing an update to his fleets at the same time!), we now have Scottish Minor Operators Fleetlists, as well as minor operators! These can be had as PDF’s/XLS sheets (latter Major Operators only right now), or indeed as some printed publications too!

We’ve been able to expand somewhat – we now have around 10,000 buses across Scotland now listed. Basically, now we cover both Minor and Major Operators i.e. everything that runs on an operator disc!

Minor Operators are those not covered by our existing Major Operators in Scotland Fleetlists, which becomes Part 1.
Part 2 – Minor Operators in Scotland East (Fife, Central & Tayside), Scotland North (former Grampian, plus the Highlands & Islands)
Part 3 – Minor Operators in Scotland South (Lothians & Borders)
Part 4 – Minor Operators in Scotland West (Strathclyde, Argyll & Bute, Dumfries & Galloway)
Part 5 – Index to Parts 1-4
Fleetlists in Part 1-4 are in alphabetical order of each operators. If you cannot find the operator you are looking for, you may need to look under the other name i.e. Waverly Travel’s license is under the name of Romadero, W&G Taxis/Coaches of Cummniestown’s license is under the name of Lowe, etc.

Major Operators remain Craig “Group” (Borders Buses, Fairline, Glasgow Citybus, West Coast), First Aberdeen, First Glasgow No. 1 and 2 (includes Lanarkshire), First Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and First Scotland East), Lothian “Group” (East Coast Buses, Edinburgh Bus Tours, Lothian Buses, Lothian Country Buses), McGills Bus Service, Stagecoach East Scotland (Fife t/a Stagecoach in Fife, Stagecoach in Perth, Stagecoach Strathtay), Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird t/a Stagecoach Bluebird, and Highland t/a Stagecoach in Caithness, Stagecoach in Highlands, Stagecoach in Inverness, Stagecoach in Lochaber, Stagecoach on Orkney and Stagecoach on Skye), Stagecoach West Scotland (Western t/a Stagecoach Western, Stagecoach Glasgow), and Xplore Dundee (Tayside t/a Xplore Dundee).
Everything Else is classed as a Minor Operator.

The Minor Operators details are split into four – Scotland East, Scotland North, Scotland West, Scotland South, in Alphabetical Order.

We also now have a combined all-operators Index, giving a quick reference for those who don’t know who owns what just drove past them…

… We have hard copies too! You can buy the Combined Volume (Parts 1-5), which is everything you will find in the five separate books (Parts 1 – 5) in 444 A4 pages. This includes over 11,000 vehicles, all the Indexes, and over 100 photographs, for £45 (posted to your door).
You can buy these part-by-part as well, if you prefer something a bit smaller, or only want one area. These are £14 each (posted to your door)…

Part 5 – Indexes, 1st Edition, November 2017
This Index is split into two parts;
• Index to Operators, and what parts you can find them in
• Index to vehicles and owners

There is a list to what areas constitute Scoland East, North, South, West below, with a list in council area order on the next page.

The rest of the Fleetlist information can be found in Parts 1 to 4.

Thanks must go to…
Chris Forbes and Tony Hunter for the fleet information (who have been compiling their lists for the public benefit for decades – I tidy them up, find photos and captions, added the Index, sort out bugs, put them online and print them).
Chris Forbes, Tails Prower and Willie Brown for the use of their photos (on the printed copies)
To all of you for your support, and downloads, over the many many years!
